Crude Skin (Japanese: さめはだ Rough Skin) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation V, it was the signature Ability of Carvanha and Sharpedo.

Effect

In battle

Generation III

When a Pokémon with this Power is hit by a movement that makes contact, the attacking Pokémon takes impairment equal to 1/sixteen of its ain maximum HP.

If a Pokémon with this Power is hit by a multi-strike move that makes contact (such as Fury Swipes), each hit will actuate this Ability.

Generation 4 onward

When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a move that makes contact, the attacking Pokémon now takes harm equal to 1/viii of its own maximum HP.

If Rough Skin causes both the Pokémon with this Power and the attacking Pokémon to faint, and so the attacking Pokémon will faint first.

Outside of battle

Crude Skin has no event outside of boxing.

If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit past a multi-strike motility that makes contact (such every bit Fury Swipes), each striking will activate this Ability.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Crude Pare is Garchomp'due south Ability. When the user is hit past a melee attack, a portion of the damage received is dealt back to the assailant. This Power can only activate no faster than every ii seconds, and takes defense force reduction into account.
